These smart (at least online) looking shorts were in the sale and looked the part so I ordered 2 pair (1 for home and 1 for holidays). I realised they were linen and so wouldn't look smooth as Polycotton, but they were creased more than rags I have under the sink. I have no intention of taking an iron on holiday with me so immediately arranged to return them. Also the high waist in very unflattering. Please M&S can we have some good heavy-quality, easy care polycotton shorts at a reasonable price?

Stylish tailored heavy linen longer length shorts. I'm 5ft 7ins and size 10, found they fit well. They flare out rather widely at the bottom which gives them odd bell shape - to get round this you can give them a turn up cuff (I lightly hand sewed this into place) or just slightly take in the over- flared part at the seam.

Not what I expected
Normally when I order clothes from Marks and Spencer, they are always longer on me than they appear on the model in the photo wearing them. So I was extremely surprised to find that these shorts were actually shorter on me than in the picture. Unfortunately, this was not a good thing! I’d hoped they would be closer to knee level, so have returned.
