How to get the size right
Before you start shopping for women’s lingerie, you need to work out the correct size. Bra size comprises two measurements, the band size (a number, for example 38) and the cup size (a letter or double letter, for example DD). Band size is the circumference of the underbust, while the cup size is the difference between outerbust and underbust. So if your outerbust is 40 and band size 36, your cup size is D as that corresponds to the fourth alphabet and your bra size is 36D. Knickers (as well as bodies, camisoles and, frequently bralettes/bustiers) are usually in clothing sizes (for example 14) but also might be XS, S, M, L, XL etc.
